How are you Being Called to Serve God?
...Because we can't do it
without you!
At St. James by-the-Sea, we believe
that lay leadership and lay participation create the bonds of
love and community that best captures the essence of being
Christian. Each of us is given certain talents. For our church
to thrive and to spread God's message, each of us are empowered
to give of our time and talents and take part in the life of our
church.
A part of our commitment as members of St. James is to engage in the life of our church,
not only by attending, but by participating. God calls us to be servants and equips us
with certain gifts to build up the body of Christ (Eph. 4:7-11).
Our passions come from a place within cultivated by the Spirit. Each of us has a special
interest, gift or talent that we can Serve Up to God. We use these special gifts or talents
in our occupations and vocations as well as in how we serve God in our communities, both our
personal communities and in our faith community.

The greatest among you will be your servant. All who exalt themselves will be humbled, and
all who humble themselves will be exalted. Matthew 23:11-12
