World Renowned Speaker to Address Episcopal Convention

The Episcopal Diocese of San Diego announces the 36th Annual Diocesan Convention, a gathering of people from around the diocese to learn, share and conduct the annual business of the diocese. The Episcopal convention will be held on February 12 and 13, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley. The theme is “More Ready Than You Realize: Discovering God’s Mission in the World,” and is taken from the book title of our keynote speaker, Mr. Brian McLaren. Mr. McLaren is an author and pastor who has helped revolutionize the Christian community’s thinking around evangelism, urging people to focus on authentic friendship, rather than winning souls for Jesus. All are invited and encouraged to attend the keynote address during the gala dinner which will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (formerly the Hanalei Hotel), 2270 Hotel Circle North, San Diego, California. The cost is $50. Mr. McLaren will speak again on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley, 2111 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, California. The cost for this general session is $30. Register by calling Registrar Isabel Lynne, 619-481-5455 or email lynnei@esdd.org.
